New Brunswick's gambling information line

The New Brunswick Gambling Information Line, 1-800-461-1234, is free, confidential and answers 24/7. This page lists it with the other help a visitor can reach, by phone, at two venues and on ALC.ca.

The line and its neighbours

The New Brunswick Gambling Information Line is run by the province's Department of Health. Its number is 1-800-461-1234. Calls cost nothing and stay confidential. The line answers 24/7, nights and weekends included. For a reader on Eastern time in Québec or Maine, the one-hour gap does not matter: a line that never closes has no hours to convert.

Two other New Brunswick lines keep the same round-the-clock hours. The Addiction and Mental Health Helpline answers at 1-866-355-5550, 24/7. Tele-Care 811 is open 24/7 as well.

Help at the venues

Casino New Brunswick in Moncton has a Responsible Gaming Information Centre on its premises. It sits in the pedway towards the entertainment centre, and its number is 506-861-4699. The centre explains the casino's Voluntary Self-Exclusion program.

Enrolling has a direct effect on rewards. Self-exclusion suspends Rewards Club membership, and the membership balance is forfeited. The program's terms are not published online, so questions about them go to the centre itself.

Grey Rock Casino, on Madawaska Maliseet First Nation land by Edmundston, runs its own Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program. It is separate from the one in Moncton. Under its rules, an enrolled person who still attends forfeits any winnings.

Breaks and limits on ALC.ca

ALC.ca, the province's online platform, has its own set of tools. Take a Break offers a short break of 1 to 90 days or a long break of 6, 12, 24 or 36 months. Once set, neither the player nor ALC can reverse it. The button for it sits on every wager screen.

Limits come in three kinds. A weekly deposit limit is mandatory, and there are daily session and daily wager limits as well.

None of this reaches beyond ALC.ca. The paid links on this guide's home page lead to a private online casino, not to ALC.ca, and the province neither runs nor licenses it. Take a Break and the ALC.ca limits do not apply there.
